16th International Summer School of Biophysics

We are pleased to announce the 16^th International Summer School of Biophysics (ISSB2027), which will be held from August 23 to 27, 2027 in Pula. The school is jointly organized by the Croatian Biophysical Society and the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, Faculty of Informatics, which will also be the host, with the support of the Ruđer Bošković Institute.

The International Summer School of Biophysics is the flagship scientific and educational event of our Society with a tradition that began in 1981. The School provides a systematic overview of the fundamental principles of biophysics and its latest achievements, primarily targeting PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, early-career researchers and associates. The program includes lectures by prominent scientists, practical workshops with advanced research equipment, and poster sessions where young researchers present their results. The best poster presentations will be awarded.

The focus of the School is on theoretical, experimental, and computational approaches in molecular and membrane biophysics, cell biophysics, developmental biophysics, and applied biophysics.

In addition to its educational role, the School fosters networking between early-career and experienced scientists, as well as collaboration with instrument manufacturers. We expect 70 to 80 participants from abroad and Croatia. Since the School takes place during the summer season, accommodation in a modern student dormitory will be available to participants.

We sincerely hope that our members will recognize the importance of preserving the continuity of this event. We invite PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, scientists, and early-career researchers to join us, and we encourage their mentors to support and enable their participation.
