Croatian Biophysical Society at the SciHill Open Day

April 9, 2026.

Members of the Croatian Biophysical Society are actively participating in the open day event at SciHill, which will take place on April 17, 2026, from 9:00 to 17:00 at the Institute of Physics, Bijenička cesta 46, Zagreb.

At the Croatian Biophysical Society stand, located in the 3rd wing of the Institute of Physics (Mladen Paić Hall), as part of Route C designed for our youngest visitors, participants will learn about the phenomena of fluorescence and surface tension. They will discover how liquids behave and how light interacts with matter. They will also explore how surface tension is used in everyday life and how fluorescence is applied in biophysics to track cells and molecules.

As an example of the application of these phenomena in biophysics, a video titled Organic Machinery of Bacteriophage & More, prepared by doctoral student Matej Kožić from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, employed on the HORIZON project MI-DNA Disc (Grant Agreement 101115215), will be presented. The video is also available at the following link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTlS3nY88U8
