It is an interdisciplinary study program that will educate doctors of science in biophysics, and in addition to basic research, it will also educate them for applied work in biotechnology, pharmacy and related professions. In the academic year 2008\/2009, the first generation of doctoral students from various disciplines, such as physics, chemistry and molecular biology, was enrolled, and out of seven of them, three are foreigners and come from Portugal, India and Bosnia and Herzegovina. \u201cBiophysics is one of the most propulsive contemporary sciences, and along with molecular biology, it is the profession of the future. Our goal is to create leaders in the field of biophysics, and we are very honored that the University of Split has been awarded such a valuable doctoral study program. The study program is of high quality, and the lecturers are top-notch and come from reputable world institutes and universities,\u201d said Prof. Davor Jureti\u0107, the main organizer of the study.
